Trail building
We build trails and bikeparks
We are doers. We discover new trails, build better ones and develop mountain biking in Iceland.

Reykjadalur Trail Centre
Reykjadalur is our basecamp and home trail area, located 40 minutes from Reykjavik in the village of Hveragerði. The singletrack network winds through fragile geothermal terrain, alongside warm rivers, connecting the three valleys of Reykjadalur, Gufudalur and Grænsdalur to Mt. Hengill.
We work closely with local authorities and landowners to build trails that are fun to ride and kind to the land. Our bridges are designed with all users in mind, including the sheep that roam freely across the area in summer.
Skálafell Bike Park
In 2010, Magne designed and built the first bike park in Iceland at Skálafell, a historic ski resort close to Reykjavik.
Vífilstaðahlíð
Built during Magne's early riding years, Vífilstaðahlíð was one of the first dedicated downhill singletracks in Iceland. It is now maintained by a younger generation of local riders.

Þórsmörk: Eco-Friendly Trailbuilding in a Nature Reserve
When the forestry agency managing the Þórsmörk nature reserve asked us to help design and build mountain bike-specific trails within the reserve, we were glad to take it on. The goal was to create enjoyable singletracks while fully respecting the natural habitat, wildlife and existing hiking routes. It was a meaningful environmental project and one we remain proud to have been part of.

Kids Zones
We developed kids zones at Hlíðarfjall bike park near Akureyri, and worked with the community of Þorlákshöfn in the South for “Gryfjan bikepark” to build a small skill area with jumps and features, accessible to beginners but fun for all levels.
Good stuff starts at home:
No trail building story at Icebike would be complete without mentioning the pump track Magne built for his kids right outside the family home. We practice what we preach!
We hope you enjoyed the story, and we look forward to welcoming you on our favourite trails.
