A selection of the best singletracks in Iceland. The tour takes us from Reykjavík to the astounding beauty of the Landmannalaugar area. The trails on this trip capture the essence and diversity of Icelandic landscapes. The colourful Rhyolite mountains provide a stunning ‘postcard-perfect’ backdrop. This is Iceland singletrack riding at it’s best, a trip created to make the most of your time in Iceland. Our guides are local riders who have extensive knowledge of the highlands.
Fjallabak nature reserve:
Fjallabak is at the heart of Iceland highlands. A true gem that is impassable for most of the year. A summer of 8 weeks with almost 24 hour daylight make it a unique place to visit. Sheep roam free in summer in the highlands. Many of the trails we ride are made by the sheep brought there by local farmers. The heards of sheep stay in the highlands until first snow falls in Autumn. Riding their trails we explore the highlands. Well away from any crowds we ride on trails known by local riders only. These are natural single tracks like no other. Away from civilisation. Away from any crowds we pedal through the remote hinterlands of Iceland.
The well deserved dinner served camping style at the mountain cabins. Hearty tasty food made from quality fresh, local ingredients. We spend the evenings by the campfire. Time to crack open a cold one and share stories with riders that share the passion of mountain biking. *No need to bring a group, solo riders welcome.
What to expect:
Singletrack like no other. Friendly local expert guides. Small groups. Raw nature. Rugged cabins. Great meals. An adventure for riders who like to embrace the elements and explore what lies behind the next turn.

Tectonic and to the highlands
The early superjeep shuttle up to Hekla – Iceland’s most active volcano – is an adventure in itself. we will drive towards one of Icelands most beautiful waterfalls, named “Háifoss”. We start at a scenic point overlooking the waterfall from the top before we start our ride down into the canyon carved by the river leading into the valley Þjórsárdalur where we end our ride today. Then hop back in the Super Jeep to make our way to the Remote mountain hut where we overnight where the local chef will greet us with a warm, home-cooked dinner of traditional Icelandic mountain cuisine.
A day in the postcard
With so many amazing options to chose from in this beautiful area, our experienced guides customize the route for each trip based on weather and trail conditions. Regardless, the fast and narrow singletracks will carve their way through this small piece of heaven as we head downward, back through the surreal moonscape of the lava fields. Today is all about Landmannalaugar singletracks. The rich contrast of black sand and bright glaciers starts our day with breathtaking views. We pedal through the colourful Rhyolite mountains and wind down a steep trail to a green oasis on lush river banks. The wildly-formed canyons along this section of fast singletrack harken back to an age when our mother earth was still in her infancy. To cap this choice day of riding, our terminus point provides an unforgettable panorama of distant glaciers and azure lakes.Back at the cabins, we’ll enjoy a nice dinner and bask in the comfort of a flickering campfire.
Soak in the scenery
Our superjeep once again delivers adventure in spades as we travel 2 -3 hours deeper in to Fjallabak mountains area for Day 4. includes water crossings as we transition once again to even more verdant land with crisp waterfalls flowing into pristine lakes and a thin line of hero dirt snaking its way through it all. This is where the now famous Yeti video was filmed in Þórsmörk . We'll stop at a mountain cabin for warm soup and Klena (or fried dough), before venturing out into more super scenic landscapes on hour dikes for the rest of the day. after 6 hours on the saddle we arrive in Þórsmörk area here birch trees and grassy meadows are a welcome change. The interesting mix of technical and flowing singletrack delivers us to the Volcanohuts, option of warm showers and even sauna. We enjoy our dinner together overlooking the famous volcano Eyjafjallajokull and have a chat by the campfire.
