Moso Town
Mosfellsbær (Mosó) - the village of rolling hills.
Mosó - Where Icebike Began
Mosfellsbær, or Mosó as the locals call it, is a small town just outside Reykjavík, and the place where Icebike Adventures started. This is Magne's hometown, and where trail building is turning quiet valleys and mountainsides into a growing network of singletrack right on the capital's doorstep.
The Trails Keep Growing
Mosó is becoming the leading area for mountain bike trail building near Reykjavík. Whether you are warming up before a multi-day trip or squeezing in a ride between flights, the trails here deliver.
More Than Just Trails
Nobel Prize-winning writer Halldór Laxness lived here at Gljúfrasteinn, now a museum worth a visit. In the center of town lies Álafosskvos, the historic heart of the Icelandic lopapeysa (the famous wool sweater), where a new museum dedicated to wool opens in 2026. Tucked onto the same street is Sundlaugin, the recording studio where some of Iceland's most beloved music has been made. Mosó, as we call Mosfellsbær is also home to the rock band Kaleo. They spend most of the year touring the world, but they've never forgotten where they're from and they are now the biggest sponsors of our local football club. And post-ride, ice cream store and a world-class bakery will be waiting for you with refreshments.
