IMF Iceland Cycling Expeditions
More than miles: Our work for the International Myeloma Foundation
For the past two years, we have handled the logistics for the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) Iceland Cycling Expedition.
At Icebike Adventures, we know volcanic terrain and river crossings. But these trips were something different. A group of survivors, doctors, and advocates riding together toward a cure for multiple myeloma. We are proud to have been a part of their journey.

Logistics in the Land of Fire and Ice
Organising a multi-day fundraiser in the Icelandic Highlands is no small feat. For the 2024 and 2025 expeditions, our role was to ensure that the focus remained on the mission, not the mechanics. We managed:
Custom Route Planning: Balancing the raw challenge of the Highlands with the safety needed for a diverse group of riders.
On-Trail Support: Providing the fleet, technical, and mechanical support, and expert guiding to keep the team moving through Iceland’s famously unpredictable elements.
Backcountry Logistics: Ensuring that from the first pedal stroke in the morning to the debrief at night, the team had what they needed to succeed in the wild.

Why It Matters
Seeing the grit of these cyclists, many of whom are patients themselves, puts every "hard climb" into perspective. These expeditions have raised significant funds for the iStopMM project (the world’s largest myeloma screening study based right here in Iceland) and the IMF’s global research initiatives.
We’ve seen firsthand that a bike isn’t just a machine; it’s a tool for resilience. We are incredibly proud to be the logistics partner for the IMF and look forward to the miles ahead as we continue to support the fight for a cure.
