Fjallabak - Our Favourite Gravel in Iceland
This is the riding we built the company around. The routes through Fjallabak Nature Reserve cross volcanic plains, black hard-packed lava roads, and climbs that open up to glaciers, mountains, and steaming valleys at every turn. The surface here, when the volcanic soil is compacted, is fast, predictable, and deeply satisfying. It is the kind of gravel that makes you forget how far you have already ridden.
Exposed, Remote, and Worth Every Kilometre
Reaching Fjallabak takes effort. There are no trees, no shelter, and no services out here. Iceland's weather does not wait - strong winds, sudden rain, and summer snow are all part of the deal. That is exactly what makes it special.
Home of the Rift Race
Fjallabak hosts the Rift Race, one of Iceland's premier gravel events, drawing riders from around the world to test themselves against the landscape. If you have heard of it, you already know why this place matters.
Come prepared; there is very little infrastructure in the Fjallabak area, and the weather can change dramatically.
