Description
The Hekla Gravel is a three-day gravel adventure that takes you from the outskirts of Reykjavik deep into the Icelandic highlands and back again. You will ride through lava fields old and new, past recent eruption sites, across remote highland backroads and through landscapes that change at every turn. The support vehicle is always nearby, so you can push as hard as you want or ease off when you need to. Evenings are taken care of too, from the best pizza in the northern hemisphere to warm showers and made-up beds in the middle of nowhere. This is Iceland, very few have the privilege to experience.

Skill and Fitness Level: Riding gravel in Iceland is unlike anywhere else. Surfaces range from fast, hard-packed hero gravel to chunky and loose, sometimes on the same road. You should be comfortable riding in a variety of gravel conditions. Fitness-wise, this trip suits a wide range of riders thanks to the support vehicle. Push as hard as you like or find your own pace. Those who choose the latter may find themselves gently roasted at dinner.
Solo, group, private: Solo riders welcome. Private trips can be arranged for groups.
