What Tour to Choose for What Skill Level
What Skill Level Do I Need?
Mountain Bike
Geo Trails
The Geo Trails are suitable for any skill level. You need to be comfortable on a mountain bike, no technical riding experience required, just a sense of adventure and a reasonable level of fitness.
Steamer
The Steamer is for riders who are comfortable on technical single-track. Expect loose soil, off-camber sections, and steep terrain. There are no drops or jumps, but you need to be confident handling your bike when conditions get challenging. Mountain biking experience is essential here.

Multi-day Trips - Falcon and Tectonic
These trips are designed for riders who have mountain biking as a regular hobby. You should feel at home on technical singletrack and be able to ride comfortably for 4 to 6 hours a day. You do not need to be a racer, but you should be fit, confident on challenging terrain, and ready to embrace whatever the Icelandic highlands throw at you. If you book a private trip, we can design routes and pace to fit any skill level.
Raven - Our Flagship MTB Trip
The Raven is built for serious riders. Mountain biking is not just something you do occasionally; it is a core part of your life. You are an advanced rider with good fitness, comfortable pushing your limits on demanding terrain. This is Iceland mountain biking at its best, and it rewards those who come prepared.
Gravel
Hekla and Westfjords Gravel
The key difference in cycling gravel in Iceland vs elsewhere is the ever-changing roads. Parts can be chunky, weather factors in and the landscapes can steal your attention. Even if you're super fit, you need some technical skills and to be happy riding outside on gravel and varied surfaces.
Minimum age for public multi-day trips is 18 years; for day tours and private trips, it is 12 years when riding with an adult.
If in doubt, please get in touch. I'd be happy to chat about our trips!
