Back of the beyond, this trip will show you Icelandic rough nature off the beaten track. Away from any crowds with plenty of photogenic spots to to stop and enjoy nature. Descending trails by mossy volcanos, passing Geothermal rivers. Experience the silence in Iceland backcountry. The trails take us through remote rugged green valley. The 5-10 km mix of natural trails and doubletracks showcase jagged volcanic formations and moss covered lavarocks. We land on a scenic spot where the riding starts with a briefing and intro on mountain biking. Our guides tailor each trip to clients’ abilities so that everyone can enjoy this beautiful area on a mountain bike or a fat bike. This trip is suitable for any riders up to intermediateskill level. MTB day to remember. All Mountain style traverse including challenging hikes and technical descents. The trip starts near the city center. We fly over the colorful roofs of Reykjavík before heading towards the geothermal region passing mossy lavafields on our way to the top. We touch down on the Hengill volcano peak for a nice start of awesome 5km descent, now we have to earn our turns, far away from population we ride an ever-changing volcanic singletrack passing rivers valleys and do some sandstone ridgeline riding, pausing only to take in the majesty of this remarkable area. As the day wears on we work our way up to the tectonic lava trail for a final technical fast and flowy traverse down to the geothermal area of Nesjavellir. This is an unforgettable trip suited to experienced AM / Enduro rider with some true grit.
